A Lion Hearted Effort : Brian receives award for his community service

through his Country Music

BRIAN has been named as the winner of the Peel Valley Lions Club of Tamworth Australian Country Music Service Award for 2008.  The Annual award honours someone in the country music industry who uses their talents in a voluntary capacity for charity and for those  less fortunate than most.  Brian was nominated for the award by the Lions Club of Port Lincoln in South Australia, which of course is his birth place.  The presentation of the unique award, which is a ceramic mounted “dunny” created by Moonbi NSW craftsman, Fred Hillier took place at Festival FM Radio on January, 22nd during this year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Due to the on-going dedication to fundraising by his late mother, Shirley and   father, Harry the $500 cash donation that goes with the trophy, Brian chose to donate to a very  grateful, Matthew Flinders  Nursing Home in Port Lincoln, SA.

And it should be mentioned that Brian does not look upon this award lightly.     Ever unassuming and grateful of his talent, it is important to Brian that, whenever possible he continue to support many Australia-wide charity      organizations  —  his way of giving back to the community who supports him.
